I know. My tires were only~250$ a piece and I thought that was expensive. those are high performance all-season runflats too.

$388 at Tire Rack....so after shipping for both tires, you’re at $700. And at least $75 or more for installation.

So, it’s actually not a bad price considering it’s a dealer, and they didn’t have to do the legwork I just did to get the price, shipping, etc.

What I want to know is, who slashed the tires?

Yes there’s the convenience fee that is using the dealer instead of buying your own tires and driving somewhere to have someone else install and balance them, but that tire is not a $465 (or $429) tire.

I would imagine it’s difficult to slash low-profile tires, so they must have been pissed.

$388 + $16 shipping = $404. I’m sure it could be found elsewhere for less, but not much. I’m kinda shocked the Porsche dealer has it for as low as $429. Even independents mark up tires, and if you BYO, they mark up mounting/balancing.

For someone driving around in a (presumably) new $70,000+ Cayman/Boxster, it’s not a bad convenience fee considering TPMS, Run-flat guarantee, and 20" wheels. And, they are probably driving around in loaner Macan for the day.

I have Boxster, and I love trashing dealerships, but I don’t think I can here.

I’m not trying to trash the dealer, but My bird is the word thought the tires were $429. They aren’t. I have paid the dealer convenience fee for a loaner, and would choose to do so if there’s something on my car that I just don’t want to be bothered with fixing.

$10 for wheel weights? I don’t think I’ve EVER been charged for wheel weights. When they’re charging for mount/balance, the wheel weights come with.
